Sorry I am late.... It took me awhile to find the link I wanted to give you of where I got this idea from, that way you can read her description along with the pictures since I am not very good at explaining,
http://archive.constantcontact.com/fs165/1102243212164/archive/1122465234211.htmlI am sharing my attempts on this technique, nothing like hers of course. First off she says to use the mini distress inks, which I will say worked a lot easier than the bigger ones so if you have them in the colors you want to use, use them, but as you see, I have all bright colors in my mini's. I just picked one side to show you on each of these examples but like she says you use whichever side you like that worked out best.
Then the next day I tried a different folder one without an over all panel, didn't care for how that was turning out either.
Then the next day after I thought about it, I went back to the folder I wanted to use for some guy cards I need to mail out the beginning of Feb. and I only used one color for the gears and one color for the background, I didn't have a full all over coverage still like I wanted so I sprayed the actual paper instead of the folder and it all blended well together, so in the end I was happy with my results and it looks more like gears too me now..
One of the last two examples used watercolor paper and the other used just regular cardstock, I liked the looks of the regular cardstock, but my hubby preferred the watercolor.
Will be happy to see how you all do with this one.
I would like to see you make a card from your embossed background.
This will run through midnight Jan.31 and I will have a little drawing of all who participate and will send a little package out.
Ok I tried to save the attachments under what I wrote in each paragraph but that didn't work, so You will have to read under each one it will tell you which try that was, sorry.
Here are links to the two cards I made using the folders:
