Paper Towel Stamping -- WINNER ANNOUNCED
« on: September 29, 2014, 01:54:56 PM »
Here is what you need to do for my challenge. Please use the key word PTINF14 when uploading your project.

Here are the pictures and instructions on how to make the background that I would like for you to use on your project

http://stampwillydesigns.blogspot.com/2013/06/technique-tuesday-stamping-with-paper.html#comment-form

I used a brayer but you can also use your fingers to rub over the paper towel and card stock and it works well. Also, if you don't have a large ink pad you  can use a smaller piece of paper towel and use a smaller piece on your project. You DO NOT have to do the embossing either unless you want to.

1. do this technique and use it somewhere on your project (card, tag, etc.)

2. use at least one stamped image, not just a saying

3. use at least 2 embellishments

4. link your project to this post as well as the event gallery ( use PINF14 for the key word )

You may combine this with any other Inktober Fest challenge and/or the Christmas All Year challenge. I will be giving an RAK to a randomly chosen winner. Have fun!

What an easy technique!  Now I am anxious to go look at my paper towels and see what pattern they have on them, lol.

Thanks so much for hosting!

Well, we are all thinking the same thing.  That is one cool texture you have on that paper towel!  This is going to be fun . . .  and very inky!

Thanks for the challenge.

Ooh, love this one! Sounds like fun.
I just came across some paper towels at the grocery store the other day that had leaves and pumpkins embedded in the towel. I didn't buy them though, they were 3.50 a roll and I'm cheap!

Thanks for hosting, April!

I had to go and look at my paper towels too and they seem to have diamond shapes on them.  Thank you for hosting this challenge Stampwilly.

I did have some trouble with the technique.  When I used the brayer over the paper towel and ink pad, too much ink got into the pattern of the paper towel and the pattern didn't show up at all, even with multiple tries.  So instead, I swiped ink over the paper towel.  this way, I could control the amount of ink more easily and I was able to use three different ink pads together (I only have one multi color inkpad).

Still the pattern was subtle, but it made a great background for my snowman.

This was a fun challenge, thank you.

PS, my paper towels are from Costco, so they are Kirkland brand.

Well I made a card from the paper towel background I stamped using distress ink.  Of course this is something I will need to try again sometime this week because once was not enough.  Thank you for the fun challenge.

Ok, Sadie has been partying a bit too hard, she's starting to make up words.:uglystupid2: In her project description she talks about using her kajinker.  Sounds like something out of a Dr. Seuss book, if you ask me.  :D

Nope, not made up that is what it says on the side, KaJinker!   It's one of those things that retail uses to attach tags but it used smaller shorter ones that go through the flowers and hold them onto paper....LOL

Notice pictures at bottom of post....KaJinker.....LOL  Also notice the pink paper tagger by Around the Block......I mentioned I have some older tools....LOL

Thanks for the pictures, Sadie! What a funny name!

Sadie your card is so pretty. I love the soft colors. Heidi, I got an error when I clicked on the link to your snowman and could not see your card. I will try to find it in the gallery.
